The goal is not to offer polished expositions of topics as in an encyclopedia, but to exchange ideas, e.g. on how to formally define things correctly. On the long run, we hope this helps to establish a more unique convention on how to name things in mathematical research that is related to the scientific study of consciousness.

We'll be providing policies for editing entries eventually, but until this is the case, please use the following rule of thumb when contributing: Ask yourself whether the content you are about to submit is helpful to clarify the topic at hand '''for others'''. In case the public editing option doesn't work well, we'll have to restrict access to authorized users only. Please bear this in mind when posting.

Consciousness is a very fascinating research topic and continues to attract increasing amounts of attention. While this is primarily a good thing, it inevitably also leads to some contributions which are more idiosyncratic. While we appreciate everyone's involvement in the topic, we have decided that this wiki is not intended to discuss rather idiosyncratic approaches in the scientific study of consciousness.

Welcome! This is an experiment: A shared notepad on mathematical topics in the scientific study of consciousness.

Goal

Much like our idol, the nLab, this wiki offers a space for researchers to share notes, thoughts, definitions and ideas. It is dedicated primarily to formal/mathematical topics in the scientific study of consciousness, but topics from philosophy, neuroscience and other disciplines are welcome as well.

The goal is not to offer polished expositions of topics as in an encyclopedia, but to exchange ideas, e.g. on how to formally define things correctly. On the long run, we hope this helps to establish a more unique convention on how to name things in mathematical research that is related to the scientific study of consciousness.

Dos and Don'ts

We'd like to invite anyone to contribute notes or thoughts, or to improve entries. This is why, for now, the wiki is publicly editable.

We'll be providing policies for editing entries eventually, but until this is the case, please use the following rule of thumb when contributing: Ask yourself whether the content you are about to submit is helpful to clarify the topic at hand for others.

While we appreciate everyone's involvement in general, we have decided that this wiki is not intended to discuss rather idiosyncratic approaches in the scientific study of consciousness.
